Learning theories have always provided me with valuable frameworks for understanding how students acquire knowledge and skills. As I completed this assignment, each theory offered some unique insights into my teaching of my 8th-grade students. I was able to enhance my teaching strategies, as I tailored my approaches to the diversity of learners in my class. I paid more attention to whether a student responded better to hands-on activities (behaviorism) or benefited from active engagement (constructivism), which helped in keeping my students more engaged.

Learning more about cyber-bullying has led me to integrate a seven-minute discussion in my math class once per week to educate my students about the digital world. I began by establishing a safe reporting system for cyber-bullying. I encouraged my students to speak up about any instances of cyber-bullying they may have had and let them know that they would be supported. I used the knowledge I gained to shape my teaching practices not just preparing my students academically but also socially and emotionally to be responsible digital citizenship.

Additional knowledge about educational games has improved my mathematics teaching due to their effect on the different learning styles of students. I now use games as the main resource in my math intervention classes. The games I used often incorporate real-world scenarios, which has made my students who once lacked interest in math become active participants. I cannot wait to see their performance in the next district-wide assessment!
